alicia and natalie have cut myself as well as my 3 childrens hair...its not a kids salon but they do a great job and your kid doesn't leave with a bowl cut like childrens only places. Color is always amazing and they actually listen and give a hoot what you tell them. Alicias is a small treasure that i hope stays that way for our sake. The color is great because they go from conservative to crazy (good crazy) she rocks.

I got my hair cut here last week and it was such a better experience than Bangz!
It's a small salon that doesn't look like much from the outside, and the decor isn't all that great, but who cares when you have a wonderful stylist?!
Yvy cut my hair and before we began, she talked with me for nearly 15 minutes to go over what exactly I wanted, what would look good given my face shape, and she detailed exactly what her process for cutting my hair would be. She did a dry cut first, then I was shampooed and she "customized" the cut while my hair was wet, and gave me a great blowout. It was definitely more money than a junior stylist and Bangz, but well worth it!
Everyone I know who's gotten their hair cut at Alicia's is always shocked by how personal and welcoming they are. You can tell they really care about giving the customer what they want, not just getting them in and out of the chair as soon as possible so they can go on to the next client (like they do at Bangz).
I'm going back in 3 days to get my hair colored...so I'll update the review to speak about that experience, but I just had to commend Alicia's right away!
FYI -- you can charge your services on a credit card, but gratuities must be cash only!

So, it's been 2 weeks since my hair cut at Alicia's and I'm still getting compliments! I went back this past Saturday and got my hair colored by the same woman who cut my hair, Yvy. It looks incredible! She totally transformed my hair and made me look so much more like myself. She once again sat with me for like 10 minutes describing what her thoughts were and what her process would be, listened and took into account my opinion, and worked off of it. It looks amazing. Yes, a little expensive ($85 -- but I got 3 different colors in my hair), but absolutely worth it. I feel so great!

I've been very fortunate to find Jackie, now at Alicia's Hair in
The staff at Alicia's is absolutely lovely, incredibly attentive and super friendly. I always look forward to my next appointment. (the shampoo chairs are the most comfortable anywhere!)
My hair always looks superb. When I first went to Jackie my hair was terribly dry and damaged from coloring and was a single, artificial-looking blonde. It had no life or dimension. I fully expected to be told that it would have to be cut off.
The first time I saw her she spent a great deal of time consulting first to see what I wanted. She cut it and it was fabulous! I had NEVER had such a great cut. The blow-out was also fab and she took the time to teach me how to do it at home. (Not that I can recreate the magic, but I try.)
So I went back and discussed color with her. She identified the problems with the color and suggested that lowlights would add dimension and a natural look. It is utterly fabulous. The condition is amazing thanks to the products the salon uses and recommended for
(She also does my daughter's hair when she's home from college in
Jackie is an absolute sweetheart. If you want GREAT hair, run, don't walk.
I should add that all the other clients I see there look fabulous too.

I just went today for a cut, color, and blow-out. I wanted a knowledgeable stylist because I felt indecisive about what I wanted to do with my hair. Everyone was incredibly friendly, from the first phone call to the actual appointment. (I used to go to a salon where getting someone on the phone to make the appointment was half the challenge). Jackie was able to tell me what colors went best with my skin tone, knowing already which shades leave me washed out when some stylists might just assume that since I'm fair-skinned my hair should automatically be light. She also listened to what *I* wanted, which is important to me. She did nothing without making sure I was on board. As I was indecisive, she gave me options and was patient and helpful with the decision. She also suggested a really fun cut instead of the plain layers I am used to getting, and I'm thrilled with the result. It was a little pricey but then I needed a lot of work and was prepared to pay for it; I came in with a fried mop on my head. I felt like I got a real make-over and will definitely go back.

Alicia's Hair & Design is great! Alicia and Jackie are both very friendly and seem very experienced...they are also fun and don't seem afraid to try something different. Jackie did an awesome job cutting my hair and giving me layers. I plan to go back in a few weeks for help with the color. She is so easy to talk to and helpful with ideas.
Alicia cut my mothers hair and gave her a great short cut. She spent the time with her going over exactly what she wanted and my mother was very happy with how it turned out.
Great salon with very reasonable prices!
